A former Lincoln police sergeant has been named the 2023 recipient of the Lamplighter Award for Moral Courage in Law Enforcement.

Many officers who report the alleged misconduct of their fellow officers then have to face the courts and government agencies alone.

Esqueda last month won a Whistleblower of the Year Award from The Lamplighter Project, a national organization of police whistleblowers.
